Stonewall Football Club
Stonewall Football Club was the brainchild of a gay amateur footballer who was living in London back in 1991. He came up with the idea of putting an advert in a gay publication to see if other like-minded people wanted to contact with him and share his passion to play competitive football. He was taken aback by the number of replies he’d received to the advert and thus Stonewall Football club was given life as the first gay men’s football club in the whole of the United Kingdom.
